At the Top of the World — and Warm

18.04.2025

Ukrainian brand IENKI IENKI is renowned for its innovative technologies in crafting jackets that combine exceptional quality and standout style.

Constantly improving its materials and integrating new solutions, the brand continues to push boundaries.

As part of the Advanced Research project — inspired by the bravery of Ukrainians — the brand creates warmwear at the peak of excellence. One of its standout initiatives was designing a special outfit for Ukrainian mountaineer Antonina Samoilova, who has already completed her third ascent of Mount Everest. The first time she raised the Ukrainian flag at the summit was in 2022. Each of her climbs is dedicated to her homeland, and such extreme conditions require reliable, high-tech gear.

Together with IENKI IENKI’s team, a next-generation suit was developed. Thanks to unique in-house innovations, they managed to combine lightness with top-level thermal insulation. The data was certified by IDFL (The International Down and Feather Testing Laboratory). From premium goose down to AquaGuard hardware that protects from wind and moisture, the result was a complete outfit — a jumpsuit and a jacket with pants — that ensures comfort and protection even in the harshest conditions. Aesthetic appeal wasn’t forgotten either: a minimalist feminine silhouette and vibrant colors — pink, red, and yellow — make the look stylish as well as functional.

Another major achievement within the Advanced Research project was the creation of parkas for the "Akademik Vernadsky" Antarctic research station. As we know, the conditions in Antarctica leave no room for error. For over two years, members of the expedition have relied on modern uniforms by IENKI IENKI. According to the brand, the development process took six months.

The goal? To design a jacket that could withstand -27°C temperatures, harsh winds, snowstorms, and heavy rains — the daily reality in polar regions.

The result: a unique three-layer fabric, developed in collaboration with Italian textile house Majocchi, which ensures waterproofness and thermal protection. Combined with the brand’s signature goose down, the parkas provide warmth and lightweight comfort, allowing the team to carry out their research in safety and ease.

Ultimately, supporting and spotlighting such initiatives from Ukrainian fashion is incredibly important. Because fashion is not just about aesthetics and trends — it’s about strength, innovation, and bold contributions that help Ukrainian brands change the world.
